San Gil
Shaun, from the small New Zealand island of Australia runs one of the best and newest hostels in Colombia, the
Macondo guesthouse.
This place is one of the biggest best kept secrets in Colombia. A small town of only 40,000 people but with a great
atmosphere and loads of things to do one could almost say its like a little Queenstown (adventure capital of New
Zealand). You can raft several rivers up to Grade V in difficulty, rappel, para-glide, visit waterfalls, go caving or just
hang out in the town and enjoy the friendly people and great little bars where beers are as cheap as chips.
